Winnie-the-Pooh, commonly shortened to Pooh Bear and once referred to as Edward Bear, is a fictional bear created by A. A. Milne. The character first appeared in book form in Winnie-the-Pooh (1926) and The House at Pooh Corner (1928)

Harry Rowohlt, so scheint es, hat die Tiere mit ihren Wünschen, Ängsten und ihrer Neugierde durchschaut. Kein Wunder: Mit Pu der Bär verbindet ihn auch eine lange Geschichte: Als er drei Jahre alt war, hat ihm seine Mutter zum ersten Mal das Buch vorgelesen. Kaum in der Schule hat er es dann selbst gelesen - und später noch einmal übersetzt. Auf eine ganz besondere Weise. Es ist ihm gelungen, die wunderbaren Verse mit hintergründiger Komik aus dem Englischen ins Deutsche zu übertragen. Und zwar so, dass sie sich wieder reimen - wie in der englischen Vorlage auch. Frühere Übersetzer haben das nicht geschafft. Keiner kennt Pu der Bär so gut wie Harry Rowohlt. Klar, dass es ihm Spaß gemacht hat, die Geschichte selbst auf CDs einzulesen - er hat daraus ein ungemein spannendes und witziges Hörbuch gemacht.
